A thousand Birthday wishes...

A thousand birthday wishes
Created on September 3, 2014
Last week, Bruce Sullivan from Queensland, posted a request on Facebook, asking all his friends and family to send a birthday card for his daughter Hannah — what he didn't expect was over a thousand cards!
Hannah's 18th birthday is described as a miracle by her father as she reaches this milestone. In celebration, Bruce wanted to flood her with support and encouragement in the form of birthday wishes.
The post was shared thousands of times and soon well-wishing strangers from all over the
country were sending their birthday wishes to Hannah.
Bruce described his daughter as 'beautiful and
caring' and wanted to surprise her with many birthday wishes on her special day.

On Hannah's 18th birthday a thousand birthday cards were sent to her and that only happened because her dad posted up asking for them for her on Facebook.

Now, if I got that many cards I wouldn’t even bother reading them.

Money truck crashes

Money truck crashes

Created on September 2, 2014
An armoured truck overturned on a highway in Rhode Island causing bags of money to spill all over the road which quickly caught the attention of other drivers.
Police say the driver lost control and the truck swerved off the highway onto the grass and tipped onto its side.
Both the driver and the other person in the truck received cuts and bruises and possibly neck and back injuries.
The money was in clear plastic bags and canvas duffel bags and the scene of the accident was soon swarming with passers-by but police are unsure whether any money was taken.
A second truck was called and the money was transferred as police supervised and kept passers-by away from the scene.

A  truck has tipped bags of money on the side of the motorway in an  car accident and no money has been taken.

I reckon if anyone realized that those bags were full of money they should’ve took every single one of those bags and they would’ve been rich.

Tall Blacks lose to Turkey

Tall Blacks lose to Turkey
Created on September 1, 2014
The New Zealand basketball team have lost their first game of the 2014 World Championships being held in Spain.
The Tall blacks lost 76-73 to Turkey after leading by 10 points halfway through the final quarter
However, a technical foul by the coach and then some poor decision let the Turkish team into the game and take the lead.
Corey Webster led New Zealand with 22 points, while Rob Loe made a strong contribution starting at centre, with 11 points including three three pointers.
The game started with controversy after the Turkish team turned their backs on the New Zealand haka.
Their next game for the Tall Blacks against the Dominican Republic, who were beaten 72-62 by Ukraine‘ tomorrow morning.

The Talls Blacks have been beaten by Turkey 76-73 and Corey Webster led New Zealand with 22 points, while Rob Loe made a strong contribution starting at centre, with 11 points on their first game.

I reckon that the Turks who beat the Tall Blacks should then have to play against Michael Jordan’s old team, The Chicago Bulls. The Bulls would beat them by heaps.

MY NECKLACE...

CROSS 2.jpg
Today I finally finished my pewter casting pendant and it took me 17 days to finish it at hard material tech at Tamaki College. My cross is shiny but it still has a few scratch marks on it. I chose this shape because it was easy to do and it looks cool. I have made this shape just for myself.

The Warriors have been knocked out of the the top eight play-off following their latest loss.
The Warriors were beaten 46-12 by the Rooster’s in Auckland to dent their playoff hopes.
The Rooster’s controlled the majority of the game leading 16 — 6 at halftime.
Sonny Bill Williams returned from a broken thumb to help his side score 7 tries against the Warriors 2.
The result means that the Rooster’s climb to 3rd on the ladder while the Warriors have dropped to 10th.
There are just two weeks left in the regular season, with the Gold Coast and Penrith the Warriors' remaining opponents.

The Warriors are now struggling to make top 8 after losing badly to the Roosters. Sonny Bill Williams has returned to play rugby again for the Roosters..

I think if Sonny Bill was in the Warriors team they would’ve won the game. I also thought that the Warriors were going to win against the Roosters but the Roosters thrashed them like they were nothing.

Created on August 26, 2014
The New Zealand Rugby Union has announced that it is suspending all fireworks at their games. The new rule comes after on-field fireworks at the Bledisloe Cup injured three people. The three were struck by debris when the fireworks ignited following the All Black haka.
NZRU chief executive Steve Tew said fireworks displays are off until the cause is known. He said it would be foolish to put anything on unless spectator safety can be completely guaranteed. The company involved, Van Tiel Pyrotechnics- said it has been setting up displays for the All Blacks for more than 10 years without any incident.

Fireworks are banned from Rugby union because three people got injured from them. The NZRU is trying to find out what happened. The All Blacks have had firework displays for 10 years without any incidents.

I think the fireworks shouldn’t be banned from the rugby pre-show because it actually makes the game more exciting.

The 2014/15 English Premier League has started with the favourites, Chelsea and Manchester City, both starting with victories.  Chelsea overcame newly promoted Burnley to win 3-1 while Manchester City beat Newcastle.
Manchester United started the season with a shock 2-1 home loss to Swansea.  Their new manager Louis van Gaal not happy with the way his team coped with the pressure.  United had been in good form, having an unbeaten pre-season tour of the United States beating rivals Liverpool and European champions Real Madrid.
Meanwhile New Zealand striker Chris Wood became only the second kiwi to score in the Premier League after scoring in Leicester City’s 2-2 draw with Everton. Woods strike came with only 4 minutes of normal time remaining.

When I grow up I want to be a Soccer star. I think the players should stop hurting the other players and causing too many injuries.
